Why We Use Heidelberg & Komori Machines for Every Job

In commercial offset printing, the quality of your output is directly tied to the quality of your press fleet. Machinery affects colour consistency, dot gain, register accuracy, print speed, substrate flexibility, and ultimately — the client's satisfaction with the final product.

At Jaina Offset Printers, we made a deliberate choice decades ago to invest exclusively in Heidelberg and KOMORI presses — two brands widely regarded as the global gold standard in commercial sheet-fed offset printing. Here is why that matters for your print job.

Heidelberg: The German Engineering Standard

Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG, founded in 1850, is the world's largest manufacturer of sheet-fed offset presses. The name Heidelberg is synonymous with print quality globally — from small commercial printers to the world's largest publishing houses.

Our Heidelberg fleet includes:

  • Heidelberg SM 102-8P (8 Colour, 28×40): Our flagship press. Eight colour units allow us to print 4-colour process plus 4 additional spot colours, coatings, or varnishes in a single pass. This eliminates the need for multiple passes, improving registration accuracy and reducing turnaround time. Perfect for premium books, art catalogues, and any job requiring spot Pantone colours.
  • Heidelberg Speed Master CPC 4 Colour (28×40) ×2: Workhorses for our high-volume 4-colour work — textbooks, annual reports, catalogues, and magazines. The CPC (Computer Print Control) system provides real-time colour measurement and automatic ink key adjustment, ensuring the colour on sheet 1 matches sheet 1,00,000.
  • Heidelberg Speed Master CPC 2 Colour (28×40): Dedicated to two-colour and spot-colour work — for text-heavy books where a second colour is used for headings, educational publishers needing two-colour content, and economical duotone printing.

KOMORI: Japanese Precision for Medium-Format Work

Komori Corporation, founded in 1923 in Japan, is Heidelberg's closest global competitor — and in certain applications, arguably its equal. KOMORI presses are renowned for their precision engineering, fast makeready speeds, and excellent ink train design.

Our KOMORI Lithron G 37 (4 Colour) specialises in:

  • Medium-format 4-colour work where its specific sheet size complements our Heidelberg fleet
  • Fast changeovers between jobs thanks to KOMORI's automated plate changing and wash-up systems
  • Consistent ink density across the entire sheet width — critical for large area printing

What This Means for Your Print Quality

Both Heidelberg and KOMORI presses incorporate technology specifically designed to solve the hardest problems in offset printing:

  • Colour consistency: Automated colour control systems sample ink density across the sheet every few minutes and adjust ink keys automatically — maintaining density within ±0.05 density units throughout the run.
  • Register accuracy: Front lay, side lay, and gripper systems work together to position every sheet to within 0.05mm accuracy — ensuring no colour fringing or blurred text.
  • Anti-ghosting and anti-setoff: Powder spray systems and extended delivery pile systems prevent ink transfer between sheets during stacking — critical for high-coverage print jobs.
  • Wide substrate range: Both press ranges handle stocks from 60 GSM thin paper to 400 GSM board — giving us the flexibility to run virtually any print substrate our clients require.

Scale Without Compromising Quality

One of the most common questions we get from large print buyers is: "Can you guarantee the colour on a run of 50,000 copies will be consistent from start to finish?"

With our Heidelberg presses equipped with CPC colour management, the answer is yes. The CPC system continuously monitors and adjusts ink delivery throughout the run — making it physically difficult for colour to drift. This is why we are trusted by publishing houses, corporate clients, and educational publishers who run quantities from 5,000 to 5,00,000 copies.

Planned Equipment Investment

We are a company that believes in reinvesting in our production capability. We regularly service our press fleet to manufacturer specifications, replace ink rollers and blankets on schedule, and plan for press upgrades as technology evolves. Our commitment is to remain at the forefront of offset print quality in the Delhi NCR region.
